Comedian and Nigerian Young Footballer Obstructs Senator Orji Kalu Over The Weekend
Bernard Ogbe, Abuja.
It was a busy weekend for the Senator representing Abia North District, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu. During the wedding ceremony of Mrs. Chinwe Henry, a staff member of the Orji Uzor Kalu Foundation, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu’s presence made the event a memorable one.
The ceremony was enlivened by the performance of a young comedian, Osoba Eric, also known as MC Funnymic, who entertained the guests. MC Funnymic, while on stage, made a request to have a picture with Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, whom he praised as a hardworking “talk-and-do” son of the Southeast. The Senator not only granted the request but also exceeded expectations by giving more than asked for.
Taking advantage of the opportunity, MC Funnymic invited Senator Orji Uzor Kalu to one of his comedy shows scheduled to be held at the Abuja Intercontinental Hotels in November. He promised that the Senator would have a great time and laugh away the accumulated stress from his efforts to better the lives of the people.
In the same event, a young Nigerian footballer named Ademola Kuti, who has gained experience playing football around the world, expressed his admiration for Senator Orji Uzor Kalu and his hunger to play for the Nigeria National Team, the Super Eagles.
Kuti, a Yoruba-born striker, believes he can contribute goals to build a strong national team, along with other talented young players. He currently plays for the club side of DC Virunga in the Democratic Republic of Congo/Rwanda and has previously played for several clubs in Europe. Notably, Kuti had the privilege of being coached by the late football legend Diego Maradona for two years in the United Arab Emirates.
Ademola Kuti is optimistic that his connection with Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, who is known as the “Pillar of Sports,” might open doors for him to join the Super Eagles and represent Nigeria in international football competitions.
