ABIA NORTH: THE OUK PHENOMENON
It is no longer news that Orji Kalu former Governor of Abia State has demonstrated pragmatic leadership quality since he was Governor and is now a senator representing Abia North Senatorial District. This has earned him the nickname “Action Governor” and now “Action Senator”. This has made so many of his constituents across party lines to always say good things about the things he has attracted to Abia North.
Okwadike Abia wasn’t left out in this regard. He poured an encomium on the people’s senator via a letter he sent to the Chief Whip of the 9th Assembly. In his words, he wrote;
“Senator OUK is on the ground in all nooks and crannies of Abia North Senatorial zone. He towers larger than life with his infrastructure & economic development agenda of campaign promises to the people.
The last time l checked, a school in Umuerem, the remotest part of lsuikwuato, had their people dancing, thanking & praising him for the rehabilitation of a school that was built over 40 years ago & no one or the government had in the past done anything about the dilapidated nature of the school. In every sphere of human endeavor, Senator OUK is there for the people of his zone. He doesn’t discriminate or draw lines over the people who voted or did not vote for him. Empowerment programs in human capital development, agricultural loans, scholarships at all levels, palliative to widows & the less privileged, rural road development, and renovation of hospitals & supplies, he is reaching out like never before. That’s called effective representation. The people love & will continue to give him their vote irrespective of what the envious & cynical elites think about his political maneuvers.
OUK is a man of the people. You can only challenge or dare him at your peril.”
