Sharing Formula: Why Tinubu Should Remember APC Members From Southeast Zone – Fedrick Nwoha
*MY OPINION ON THE* *PRESENT APPOINTMENTS OF THE FEDERALGOVERNMENT.*
I think that the APC leadership has to do something to ensure positions are distributed equally. This issue of one zone taking all the positions is becoming a recurring decimal.
Some of us from the southeast zone put our lives on the line to campaign and support President Tinubu in the face of unknown gunmen.
It is not new that during the electioneering campaigns of the 023 general elections, APC supporters in the South East zone were targets for unknown gunmen. Unknown gunmen were going from house to house killing our members. They were also issuing warnings for us to desist from campaigning for Asiwaju in Igbo land. It became an issue of life and death, I mean it was that bad.
Today, when raise our voices to be remembered in appointment, we will be reminded of the percentage of votes that came out from the southeast. It is so sad.
Our people are making jest of us daily for not being recognized in appointments for all we did to dismantle some of their antics against Asiwaju’s mandate. A government we staked our neck for.
I don’t believe Igbos are hated by the South Westerners or the Northern region as the saying goes rather I believe in the realignment approach which was the line some of us who supported Asiwaju towed. We need to be compensated for the struggle we embarked on wasn’t an easy one.
Our party APC, must learn to reward loyalty no matter who you are and where you come from. Whatever we think we have achieved now may become our greatest undue if not properly handled.
We cannot claim to be one Nigeria yet when it comes to the issue of sharing the national cake we will be reminded of the war of the 1960s. It is an act of opening old wounds we had during the Biafran War.
We cannot continue to live like this, we are human beings like other ethnic groups in Nigeria.
In the last general election of 2023, I contested the state assembly under APC. I mounted the Asiwaju billboard in Village Mbaise, Imo State, and I printed Asiwaju T-shirts and caps I share with my people. One morning on my way from Owerrii town for my campaign, my people were calling me to remain in town because of the threats of my life by the men of the underworld. But it didn’t stop some of us, we refused and finished our campaigns. Today when we say it some people somewhere will try to trivialize matter. We the true Supporters of APC from the South East are not comfortable we the way things are going. Let the leadership of our great party rise to the occasion and do something new. We can’t be hated and relegated this much on both sides because of our political inclinations.
I rest my case for now.
