Just In: Senator Orji Uzor Kalu wins at the tribunal in a unanimous decision against the petition of PDP and Mao Ohuabunwa as the Tribunal upholds his Election.
The National Assembly Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Umuahia, Abia State, at 10:30 am, 12th September, 2023 has upheld the election of Senator Orji Uzor Kalu of the All Progressive Congress, APC, as Senator representing Abia North Senatorial District in the 10th National Assembly.
The candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Mao Ohuabunwa, had filed a petition challenging the election of Kalu.
Recall the former Governor of Abia State, Orji Uzor, scored over 30,000 votes of the electorates declared by the umpire, INEC. His victory at the polls has been upheld by the Tribunal.
