Abia-North Infrastructure: Orji Kalu attracts highest road construction project to Itumbauzo

Construction for the longest Kilometer road project undertaken by any Legislative Representative of Abia-North has commenced in Itumbauzo, a community in Bende LGA of the zone courtesy of Senator Orji Uzor Kalu representing the Senatorial district at the 10th National Assembly.
According to prominent community stakeholder, Comrade Okoroafor Nduoma who spoke on behalf of the community, the six kilometers infrastructural project when completed will be the single biggest project that will be undertaken by any Legislative Representative of the zone since the advent of democracy.
Our correspondent gathered that the double drainage road which begins from “Ndiwo Okopedi” to “Akwa-Ibom junction” has reached advanced stages of construction. Nduoma noted that their previous representatives tried their best but that the roads they constructed were between 1 – 3 kilometers which also solved their immediate pressing needs.
Nduoma appreciated Kalu; “It was a huge surprise to me yesterday, on sighting this highest ever attracted kilometers distance road project to Itumbauzo by a single legislature since 1999.
“Personally, because of my background and upbringing l like appreciating good and massive things no matter how big or small it may appear to others but my appreciation behooves on my personal positive perception over things, issues or ideas.
“The community is very grateful to Senator Orji Kalu, who has represented us in both 9th and 10th Assembly and has attracted a 6 kilometers road project to Ndiwo Okopedi axis of itumbauzo ward and the project is ongoing.
Highlighting the importance of the road, Nduoma expressed that the Ntalakwu community will heave a sigh of relief as the road project also traverses through the community, he added that the economic and social life of the locals will also improve.
Kalu, the immediate past Chief Whip of the 9th Senate had undertaken similar projects in the community at Ntalakwu and Obibia areas such as renovation of schools, construction of three-kilometer roads, electrification and installation of 350 KVA transformers amongst others.
Recently the two time former Governor also installed a 10,000 liter capacity tank in Ndiwo Itumbazor. President General of Itumbazor, Chief Jerome Clement, President General of Ndiwo Itumbazor; Chief Uche Adiche ; Traditional leader of Itumbazor, Eze Christopher Adandom Iyiewe, Amando 1 of Itumbazor and other community stakeholders have all conveyed their appreciation to the Senator.
