10th Senate: Akpabio Step-Down, we’re not surprised, he did same for Tinubu, He’ve replicated same for National Unity
Coalition of youths from the South South, Arewa and the Ohanaze Ndigbo youths have hailed the Senator-elect, Godswill Akpabio for his courageous step taken for National unity as he stepped-down for the Yari/Kalu Senate President and Deputy president of the 10th Assembly.
As gathered by newsmen, the leaders of the coalition of Nigerian youths cut across the nation, Akwa Ibom Chapter, Bassey Effiong, applauded the move by the Senator-elect, Godswill Akpabio, to have shielded his sword for peace and unity of the nation, saying that the move is a welcome development.
In a message released in public space, the Akwa Ibom Chapter of the coalition, thanked Godswill Akpabio and his team for giving peace a chance while calling on Yari and Kalu, to see Akpabio’s patriotism as a resolution taken to deepen the unity of the nation, he said;
“This is what is expected from leaders that are willing to put national interest first before personal interest. Akpabio stepped-down for President Bola Tinubu during the APC primary. He did so for national unity and he’s replicating it now in the leadership of the 10th National Assembly.
“It’s now certain that our leaders are ready to listen to the electorates. Godswill Akpabio’s step-down from the Senate President race is a sign that the Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration is in consideration of the yearnings of Nigerians as to the fragility of the unity we long shared.
“We call on the Senators-elect, Orji Uzor Kalu and Abdul’aziz Abubakar Yari to see the patriotism of the Senator-elect, Godswill Akpabio as a way to further deepen the unity of the nation, which will create an enabling atmosphere for the Bola Tinubu’s administration to deliver on his manifesto.”
