APGA Governoship Primaries: Don’t impose Greg Ibe on Abians, Group tells T. A. Orji
A socio-political group, Ngwa Progressives and Peace Foundation, has cautioned a former governor of Abia State, Theodore Orji against imposing the Pro-Chancellor of Gregory University, Prof Greg Ibe on Abians using the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA.
The group in a statement on Friday night by its Director General, Prince Samuel Nze warned that imposing Ibe on Abians may lead to implosion of APGA.
According to Nze, the action of the former Governor was unacceptable to Abians and majority of APGA members, alleging that “Greg Ibe is been sponsored by Ikuku and TA Orji as a means of getting a hold over Abia government and giving Ikuku a chance to run after 8 years when Abia North would finish its tenure and it would come back to Abia central where Chinedu Orji is from”.
“It is time to make Abia a prosperous state for all. We won’t accept what T. A. Orji and others are trying to do by imposing Greg Ibe on APGA and Abians in general. We shall resist any attempt to impose Greg on Abians for any selfish political reasons,” the group said.
