Ikpeazu, Kalu, Sani, Obi Cubana, Others Set For Ohafia Day In Abuja December 4
The Abuja Branch of Ohafia Improvement Union (OIU) has concluded plans to hold the 2022 edition of Ohafia day celebration on Sunday, December 4, at Sandralia Hotel, Jabi Abuja.
A press statement signed by the Secretary of the Association, Mr. Lopez Okwara Mba Awa and made available to THE WHISPERER disclosed that the theme of this year’s Ohafia Day Celebration is titled: “Ikpirikpe” which literally means “Using culture and tradition to drive development”.
According to the press statement, the Central planning committee of the event as set up by the President of Ohafia Improvement Union Abuja Branch, Chief Paul Ibe, is headed by Chief Kalu Idika Okwara, who is the curent 1st Vice President of the Association, with Dr. Agwu Emetu Awa as his deputy.
The programme of events to mark the 2022 Ohafia day celebration as rolled out by the central planning committee include presentation of maiden compendium of sights, sounds, issues and people of Ohafia; Unveiling of designed Okpuagu House; Ohafia Centre for Igbo Studies and fund raising for its actualization.
A Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Chief Awa Kalu is expected to chair the occasion, while Governor Okezie Ikpeazu is the Chief Guest of Honour;
Chief Whip of the Senate, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu is the Special Guest of Honour.
Others include the member representing Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Uko Nkole; the presidential candidate of the ADP, Engr. Y. Y. Sani and his vice presidential candidate, Pastor Okey Udo; Managing Director of Nigerian Film Corporation, Dr. Chidia Maduekwe; Businessmen, Chief Chris Igwe and Dr. Obinna Iyiegbu (Obi Cubana); Deputy Chief of Staff to Abia State Governor, Chief Barr. Olugu Kalu Ugba; Financial Expert, Dr. Michael Mba.
According to the statement, Reps candidates, Chief Ibe Okwara Osonwa, Dr. Okuji Oreh and Boris Olugu are the Guest of Honours, alongside Chief Kalu Ijoma Ukeh, Chiefs Paul and Peter Okwara, Barr. Maxwell Mgbudem and Chief Dike Okoro Uche.
According to the organisers, the event has been conceived as a forum where political leaders will meet other leaders of thoughts, captains of industries, policy analysts and policy makers to exchange views on community development.
