Ohuabunwa betrayed Ude Oko Chukwu, Sam Anya, Jombo, vowed to retire Uko Nkole – PDP Chieftain, Uduma
Chief Samuel Uduma, a chieftan of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Abia State says the party is badly divided ahead of the 2023 general elections.
Uduma in a chat with newsmen on Thursday afternoon accused a former Senator representing Abia North senatorial district, Mao Ohuabunwa of betraying party leaders from Abia North senatorial district, noting that the party stand no chance in next year’s general elections in Abia State.
According to Uduma, Ohuabunwa’s desperation to return to the national assembly pushed him to betray party stalwarts from Abia North like Abia deputy governor, Ude Oko Chukwu; Kelvin Jombo Onumah, Sam Anya the member representing Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency, Uko Nkole.
“These men are seriously not happy because Mao Ohuabunwa betrayed them for his own selfish interest. He colluded with others to make sure that Abia North was denied the governoship ticket. He cunningly deceived Sam Anya from Ohafia and Kelvin Jombo from Abiriba for the ticket of Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency only to give the ticket to Ifeanyi Uchendu.
“Ohuabunwa sold the deputy governor out. He blackmailed Ude Oko Chukwu to Governor Okezie Ikpeazu and Governor Nyesom Wike. He vowed to destroy the political career of Uko Nkole and his followers. It is difficult for us to support such a selfish character.
“Today, he is one of those pushing to destroy our party at the centre. He is pushing for the removal of Ayu because his godfather lost the PDP presidential primaries. I expected Ohuabunwa to come back home and apologise to those he betrayed but he is busy still destroying the party. We are watching with keen interest.”
On the impact of Peter Obi’s candidacy in the South East, Uduma said: Peter Obi is a good leader but Labour Party do not have the needed structure to win the presidential election. He may win some local government areas in the South East, but what of North and the South West? Peter Obi has created consciousness in Nigerians but he stance no chance of winning,” he said.
